Appogee Leave: Submitting Requests

Requests can be made by clicking inside the Year At A Glance or the New Request button on MY DASHBOARD as shown below:

There are three kinds of requests that users can be allowed to submit using Appogee Leave:

  1. Leave Requests
  2. Sickness Reports
  3. TOIL Requests
If you receive the following lightbox, click on the request you would like to make. This lightbox may or may not appear depending on your domain's Appogee Leave settings.

Submitting a Leave Request

After clicking the Leave button you will see the following Request Dialog:

Select the Leave Type you require (This may or may not be available to you):

Enter the starting and ending dates (they are initially auto-filled for you).

If you would like to request leave for a length of time that is not exactly equivalent to the number of days shown, click override(This may not be available to you).

Enter the time required:

Advanced Options allow you to request half days. Making a half day request using the Advanced Options will create a half day calendar entry. To activate, click on Advanced Options:

Click the date until you see the part of the half day you want to request highlighted.

Click Next and enter a reason for your leave request if required.

If your administrator has enabled Out of Office, you will see the option to "Auto set GMail out of office?" you can follow these steps to set your Out of Office message for the period you will be absent.

Click Next to review your request and then click on Submit for Approval when you are happy with your request.

You will see that the request is shown as pending in the Year At A Glance, Your Allowance bar and the relevant allowance table:

Submitting a Sickness Report (for yourself or on behalf of others)

Depending on your domain's Appogee Leave settings, you may or may not be able to submit Sickness Reports for yourself, others in your team or anyone in your domain. Contact your Appogee Leave administrator if you would like access to these features.

As normal, click on New Request or on any date on the Year At A Glance from MY DASHBOARD. Click on Sickness from the light-box. 

If your Appogee Leave Administrator has enabled you to submit Sickness Reports on behalf of others, you will be see the option to select who to submit a Sickness Report for.

Select a Sickness Type (This may or may not be available to you):

Enter the dates of absence.

If you would like to create a report for a length of time that is not exactly equivalent to the number of days shown, click override and enter the days/hours required (This may not be available to you).

Check the appropriate box for whether you've returned to work. If you select No then the sickness report will be extended until you finally click on Return to Work and you will not be able to select the Advanced Options. On your return to work you can close the sickness report and the system will calculate how many days you have been absent. The rest of the steps depend on your selection. Skip to the relevant section:

  1. If you select No
  2. If you select Yes

 

 

If you Select No

Click Next and enter supporting information (if required):

Click Next and confirm the details. If you are happy with your sickness report, click Submit.

If you Select Yes
If you selected Yes for Have you returned to work? you can use the Advanced Options to select half days:

Click the date until you see the part of the half day you want to request highlighted.

Click Next and enter supporting information (if required).

Click Next and confirm the details. When you are happy with the sickness report, click Submit

Submitting a TOIL Request

Depending on your domain's Appogee Leave settings, you may or may not be able to submit TOIL Requests. Contact your Appogee Leave administrator if you would like access to this feature.

TOIL Requests are different from Leave and Sickness Reports. TOIL requests allow users to request compensation by an increase in their Allowance for working beyond normal working hours. As such they do not appear on the Year At A Glance or require dates. The only effect a TOIL request has is upon being approved, the current year's allowance is increased (it is not possible to request TOIL for another year, but administrators & HR Admins can increase TOIL for any year if need be).

If you want users to request TOIL and then have the days that they take due to TOIL, then your Administrator should consider creating a non-deducting TOIL Leave Type.

After clicking on the TOIL button, enter the amount of time and a reason for the request and click Submit.
