Each user has their absence entitlement defined on their Leave profile.  

We allow any number of Leave profiles to be defined in the system to provide flexibility when defining how to track custom allowances.


For example, so Alice may have a Leave profile which entitles her to 5 days of absence for Union Duties.  She is allocated a Leave profile with a Custom 1 allowance associated with Union Duties which has an allowance of 5 days.

In our example organization Bob may have a Leave profile which entitles him to 10 days for voluntary service.  Assuming the Custom 2 allowance is reserved for another purpose, he can be allocated a Leave profile with a Custom 1 allowance associated with Voluntary service which has an allowance of 10 days.   In a management overview or any summary level therefore Alice will show with a Custom 1 allowance of 5 days and Bob will show with a Custom 1 allowance of 10 days. The actual allocation name for the allowance is displayed on the personal allowance screen where this can be done unambiguously.
